McCord Scholars OverviewLearn what the McCord Scholars are up to ![]() The McCord Scholarship program was established in 2006 through a $10 million donation to three Arizona university business schools. The generous gift included $6 million for W. P. Carey students, $3 million for students at the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, and $1 million for students at the W. A. Franke College of Business at Northern Arizona University. The $6 million gift to the W. P. Carey School was the largest single-donor undergraduate scholarship gift in ASU's history. "The intent of the McCord Scholars Program is to make sure that the most talented students with financial need will be able to finish their education in a top business program," said Robert E. Mittelstaedt Jr., dean of the W. P. Carey School of Business. "We are grateful to the McCords for their support of this important strategic initiative. Their endowment means that we can literally provide for the McCord Scholars each year in perpetuity." The McCord Scholarship endowment is expected to provide recipients with a maximum of $10,000 each, distributed over two semesters, for up to 10 McCord Scholars selected each year.
